As you may be aware, the government shutdown has impacted the SNAP (food assistance) funds that many families in our school and community rely on to feed their families. Due to the need being large right now, the local food banks are being inundated and some of our families have been unable to find any appointments for the entire month of November, leaving their cupboards and refrigerators empty.
In an effort to help fill a bit of the gap and make sure our KP kids and families have food, we are starting a pantry of sorts for KP. We are looking to put together full meal kits that can help feed a family that is unable to access the food bank due to the high needs in the community (think pasta dishes, soups, casseroles, etc).
If you are in need of assistance or have the ability to and would like to donate, please see our flyer attached and contact our counselor Brandi Moore.
